DATES FOR JUNIORS IN 2012 FOR TRAINING AND TRIALS

JANUARY- SUNDAY 29^TH THIS WILL BE A TRAINING DAY AT GUILDFORD .WILL ADVISE JUNIORS WHAT IS COMING UP IN THE YEAR. THERE WILL BE TRAINING.

FEBRUARY - SUNDAY 19^TH LOOKING TO HAVING TRIAL WITH ZONE 10.

MARCH – JUNIOR METRO-SHIELD AT RYDALMERE. 4 TEAMS OF 4 = 16 PLAYERS + RESERVES.

APRIL – TUESDAY 10^TH TO FRIDAY 13^TH JUNIOR ZONE 12 FOURS AND PAIRS.MONDAY 16^TH TO THURSDAY 19^TH JUNIOR ZONE SINGLES. ALL GAMES WILL START AT 5.30PM SHARP. THIS IS KNOCK OUT

MAY – SUNDAY 20^TH LOOKING TO HAVE TRIAL WITH ZONE X

JUNE – SUNDAY 17^TH LOOKING TO HAVE TRIAL WITH ZONE X

JULY - SUNDAY 29^TH LOOKING TO HAVE TRIAL WITH ZONE 9.

AUGUST – SATURDAY 11^TH & SUNDAY 12^TH JUNIOR 7-A-SIDE.

– SUNDAY 26^TH SENIOR/JUNIOR DAY PAIRS. 3 GAMES.

SEPTEMBER – MONDAY 24^TH & TUESDAY 25TH JUNIOR PAIRS TOURNAMENT.

OCTOBER – NO TRIALS OR TRAINING THIS MONTH.

NOVEMBER – SUNDAY 18^TH WEEK BEFORE JUNIOR CITY V COUNTRY.

DECEMBER – SUNDAY 2^ND DECEMBER JUNIORS CHRISMAS PARTY.

GUILDFORD BOWLING CLUB SUPPORTS ZONE 12 JUNIORS

Guildford Bowling Club has announced that it intends to work in with Zone 12 Junior Coordinators & to promote Junior Bowls in the Zone and to arrange training one Sunday a month & this will be the Sunday before Inter Zone games when played or preferably the last Sunday of each month when there is no Inter Zone games .

They will have Premier League players & Club Coaches such as Steve Harris, Jim & Ian Ogilvie,Glen Stones etc at the training sessions which will run from 9am to 12 noon.

They will have a training circuit set up & this will work in conjunction will personal one on one coaching.

After each training session there will be a BBQ & drinks supplied to players, coaches & parents so all can get to know each other & be informed of upcoming events & training sessions.

Guildford also intends to supply each Junior who attends training sessions with a shirt that will be in Zone 12 colours(red, green & white).These shirts will have the Zone 12 logo on the left front chest, the words Junior Academy Squad on the right side chest & sponsored by Guildford Bowling Club on the back. These shirts are only intended for training sessions & as traveling shirts when traveling to Inter Zone games, players will still play Zone games in the official Zone 12 shirts.

When traveling to Inter Zone games e.g.(Nepean District) Guildford Bowling Club will make available their club bus to transport the junior academy players to the games, if required.

Guildford Bowling Club will sponsor the 2010 Zone 12 State Junior Singles ($150), Zone 12 State Junior Pairs ($300) & Fours ($600) with all good intentions of being sponsors in future years.

They also will be holding their annual Jim Ogilvie Senior Memorial Junior Tournament for bowlers under 18 which this year is worth $2500 in prize money.

These are their intentions at this stage but obviously with the academy being in its infant stage they will learn & improve as they progress & continually work in conjunction with the Zone Junior delegates & Zone 12 itself.

Guildford Bowling club is a progressive club that can see that to survive in the future it needs to the support of junior bowlers & it is their intention to in encourage Junior Bowls.
